Long Term Care Insurance Law in California.

The Governor’s Task Force has complete a list of recommendations that include the creation of a tax on all income earners. The recommendations include five plans from which to choose. Each plan has it’s own premium.

The recommendations include several ‘opt out’ provisions: low-income earners, people in retirement and those that own a private long term care policy.

The recommendations have not become a legislative bill and will not likely become law this year. The California legislature is dealing with budget shortfalls and not likely to be imposing new taxes during an election year.
