Long-Term Care Legislation
The long-term care funding crisis is being addressed on a legislative level. The cost of long-term care can be several hundreds of thousands of dollars. Many people create legal documents so that their care can be paid for by the government in government housing. Washington state has enacted a law to tax employees and employers to provide money for those expenses. Now there is a federal proposal to follow Washington’s experiment. Unfortunately, the state law only provides $36,000 over a lifetime.  Nevertheless, Washington has to do something to save its Medicaid system from going broke.
