Health Insurance for Every Stage of LIfe is Important

Who in their right mind would go without some kind of health insurance? The risk of facing economic disaster due to a medical issue seems to be ingrained in our culture. Indeed, more than half of the bankruptcies are due to health issues with the bread winners.

During our working years, employers provide access to financing. However, in our vintage years it becomes optional. Medicare and supplement plans cover acute health events. But covering the care for chronic care is optional. It takes an awareness of personal risk to insure against the cost of long-term care. Often times, it takes a trigger event, like a parent going into a senior care facility, to come face to face with the reality of the importance of having the right legal documents in place and a way to pay for care. Long term care insurance is the least expensive way to protect your money and avoid becoming a burden to your family.
